Apex Acoustics is a full-service consulting firm specializing in the fields of noise, vibration, and glint/glare hazards. We provide these services to a variety of clients in the energy, industrial, and surface transportation sectors. Our staff have over 20 years ‘experience in engineering acoustics and understand the challenges in achieving compliance with noise, vibration, and glint/glare regulations and have achieved successful results on a variety of projects.
Apex Acoustic experts are skilled at using the necessary measurement equipment and modeling software to deliver reliable and accurate results on a wide variety of complex projects within and outside the United States. We apply the latest software tools to model airborne sound levels (CadnaA, TNM) for industrial and roadway/rail transit projects, and glint/glare hazards (GlareGauge) for solar energy projects. We have experience with the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) procedures and guidelines for assessing noise and vibration impacts for rail transit projects.
Professional Expertise in All Aspects
Apex Acoustics applies National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Fisheries Technical Guidance to assess underwater noise impacts on marine mammals. We calculate acoustic isopleths for PTS and behavioral disturbance from impulsive and non-impulsive sources. Our analyses incorporate practical spreading and auditory weighting across hearing groups. These evaluations support regulatory compliance and marine impact assessments.
We Hold Professional Licenses from Accredited Institutions
Apex Acoustics experts hold Professional Engineering licenses in Maryland and maintain active memberships with industry leading organizations.
These qualifications keep us up to date on the latest issues in the industry and enables us to apply this knowledge for our client’s projects. Our acoustic experts serve as expert witnesses on noise control issues before local siting boards and regulatory agencies.
